5 Easy Things To Do With Your Child To Build Self-Esteem!

Look around and you'll see that low self-esteem is becoming an epidemic! Raising your child's self-esteem takes time, but here's 5 quick ways to help them become more socially and academically involved.

    1. Write down 10 positive words. Have your child recite each one back to you, then have them think of ways that each word represents them.

    2. Write out 3 goals with your child. Monitor the situation and guide your child into accomplishing their goals.

    3. Create an art project with them using an 8X10 picture frame, inside have them cut out pictures of family, friends, pets, and anything that makes them happy. Make that be the first thing they see when they wake up in the morning. That will put a smile on their face.

    4. Place yourself in their shoes. You'll find that communicating with them becomes much more active.

    5. Ask your child questions such as: How was your day? Did you learn anything new in school today? Who did you sit with during lunch?

These are five wonderful ways to help build your child's self-esteem, positive thinking, communication skills and confidence. Anytime a child accomplishes a goal, their self-esteem soars! Work with your child to help them accomplish as many goals as they can throughout the year. Don't work on to many goals at one time though, if your child becomes frustrated, then take it back a step and slow it down. Work at their pace.

Testimonials

Rossi taught the program at the Troy Community Center this past spring. Another program will begin Oct. 27. After Troy Parks and Recreation supervisor Elaine Bo reviewed Rossi's program, she felt it was the right fit for the community.

"I thought it was a really good program for kids and I thought parents would like it," Bo said.

"My daughter loved it. She went to the first class and couldn't wait to go back," Troy resident Vicki Miller said of her 10-yearold daughter, Taylor Miller. "She really liked Michelle. She made the kids feel at ease."

The younger Miller liked the workbook because "it helped her express her feelings."

The most powerful teaching technique is the question. Michelle Rossi draws young minds into the process of creating their own sense of self-worth and value through an extremely well directed series of questions and exercises. Stories and examples support the exercises without becoming lectures.

Through my martial arts program I've been teaching personal development to young people for more than 15 years; Michelle has produced an important tool in helping us develop powerful, passionate and creative young minds!

Michelle's new book, All About Me is for children and grownups alike! It is a gentle reminder that we are all incredibly special beings with lots of things to be proud of and reminds us of our individual power to transform ourselves and make the world a better place. To become aware of how we treat ourselves and others is something that is often overlooked and just becomes a subconscious process within the framework of our daily lives. All About Me brings everything into focus so that we can remember that everything that we say, think or feel is an powerful and important part of each moment of our lives.

I started using All About Me with my 10 year-old granddaughter. It really made her think. She came up with 8 great ideas that make her happy like, "Grandpa's delicious breakfasts. Laughing and joking with my friends. Spending time with my family."
Thanks for creating All About Me. It's a super self-esteem book!
